Frances Roppolo Obituary

Frances Palasota Roppolo, 90, of Marlin, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marlin, with the Rev. John Boiko as celebrant. Burial will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday, at Adams Funeral Home Chapel with visitation with the family before and after the service. Frances was born June 22, 1918, in Bryan, to Lucille and Peter Palasota. She grew up in Bryan, and it was there that she met her husband of more than 54 years, Nick Joe Roppolo. She was a devoted wife and mother of two children, grandmother of five and great-grandmother of nine. She enjoyed playing Bridge and traveling, but her real joy was her family, her home and the family businesses. She was actively involved in civic and social affairs and she was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Nick Roppolo; brothers, James, Peter and Sam Palasota; and sisters, Lelia Rotello, Annette Varisco and Jane Starnes. Survivors include son, Joe Roppolo of Teague; daughter, Rozelle Springfield and husband, Gene of Granbury; sister, Pauline Lewis of Houston; grandchildren, Todd Springfield, Stephen Springfield, Josepoh Nick Roppolo, Gina Pasisis and Amanda Roppolo Smith; and nine great-grandchildren. The family suggests that those who wish, may make a donation to the Alzheimer's Association, Houston and Southeast Chapter, 2242 W. Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030, or to a charity of their choice. Dear Joe, Gina, and family,
I know that the recent passing of your beloved mother and grandmother is bittersweet. Although she is no longer suffering, she will still be greatly missed. She was a true lady; one of the sweetest people I have ever known. Heaven has a wonderful new angel.

Rozelle and Joe,

Your mother was such a wonderful person. With her gifts she placed in the store, the flower arrangements she made and the way she greeted people, your mother made Marlin a happier place to be. We share your grief and pray that Jesus will still your heart with the knowledge that He lives and He will certainly some day see you united with her and the rest of your loved ones again.

Dear Rozelle, Our love goes out to you and your family. Of course, it is hard to let our parents go even at an advanced age. I remember your mother as so beautiful and gracious. She was often in the furniture store and was always very kind. We hope you and Gene are doing well. I am still in remission and value each day as I know you do. Love, Pat
