James Miller Obituary

James Miller

Mar 18, 1931 - Sep 24, 2025

James Miller, age 94, passed away peacefully on September 24th, 2025. He was surrounded by friends and family members who came to celebrate his life and share memories.

Almer James Miller was born on March 18th, 1931, in Waco, Texas, to Lucile and Wylie Frank Miller. On August 31, 1950, he married Floyce Olson and they shared 73 loving years of marriage. James worked as a sheet metal worker and retired in 1993.

James enjoyed bowling, golf and watching his two sons and grandchildren play sports during their high school and college days. He was very involved in his sons' activities, serving as president of the Midwest Little League and spending many summers coaching their baseball teams. He also served as president of the Waco Bowling Association in 1965 and the Texas Association of Bowling Youth in 1972. James was later elected to the board of directors and served 6 years on the Legislative Council. In 1982, he became president of the Texas State Bowling Association (TSBA), where he served for two years. In 1995, he was inducted into the TSBA Hall of Fame.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Floyce; his parents; and three siblings: Mildred Davis, Bill Miller and Louann (Alexander) Craddock.

He is survived by his two sons: Jim and wife Kayla of Waxahachie, and Jack and his wife Andrea of Coppell. James was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren and to six great-grandchildren.

Thinking of both Jack and Jim during this difficult time. I´m certain he has already reunited with Aunt Dale and ready to spend eternity together.
