Joel Malone Obituary

Joel Davis Malone of McKinney, passed away March 24, 2012, at the age of 38. Funeral Services will be 12 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Davis was born Jan. 20, 1974, to Daniel Luby and Dorothy (Davis) Malone in Bogalusa, La.He was a 1992 graduate of Robinson High School in Robinson, and continued his education at Texas A&M University and Baylor University. He married Sharla Streetman on Aug. 22, 1992, in Waco. He has been a resident of McKinney for 11 years and was employed by Xtera Communications. Davis enjoyed golf, NASCAR, The Aggies, and the outdoors. He loved spending time with his family. Davis was a member of Landmark Baptist Church in Waco.

Davis is survived by his wife, Sharla Malone of McKinney; children, Briton and Marin Malone, also of McKinney; parents, Daniel and Dorothy Malone of China Spring; brothers, Danny Malone Jr. and wife, Sherry, of Strong, Ark., and Darrell Malone and wife, Kim, of Benton, Miss.; and sister, Dana Pearson and husband, Mike, of Waco.

I am very sorry to hear about Davis' passing. He was a great friend to me in junior high school, and running into him at A&M always made my day. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

What I remember most about Davis was that he loved his God and family more than himself. Great guy.

I was very saddened to hear about the loss of Davis. A life cut way too short. I will always remember him as a "computer whiz". Prayers and thoughts be with the family now and in the difficult days ahead.
