John was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jim Newman and Carlton Newman; and sister, Mary Perkins.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Berylene Newman; a son, John Lloyd Newman Jr. and wife, Kim, of Brady; daughter, Christy Newman Forrest and spouse, Doug, of Hamilton; brother, Bill Newman of Millersview, Texas; sister, Joyce Ames of Millersview; grandchildren, Clabe Forrest and wife, Brandie, of Burleson, Greyson Forrest of Williston, N.D., and Jacob Forrest of Dallas, Amy Burttshell and husband, Jimmy, of San Angelo, and Kristen Newman of San Angelo; and great-grandson of Caystin.

I am saddened to learn of Mr. Newman's passing. He was a great man who always greated me with a huge smile and an even bigger handshake. He always had time to share stories with me when we chatted each fall on "The Little Place". He treated me as if I were an extended member of the family. It's not very often these days that you get to know and meet people like him. He will be missed and I know that one day I will get to share stories with him again. My heartfelt condolences go out to Mrs. Newman, John, Christy, and the rest of the Newman family. God Bless.

Brother John was a kind man who always had a smile and a handshake ( with those big old,strong hands)for everyone We will miss him dearly but know he'll be waiting to greet and shake our hands when our times come. God bless and comfort you family of brother John.
