LaVern Humble

Annelle LaVern Humble, 74, of Cameron, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010, at her home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 20, at First United Methodist Church in Cameron with the Rev. Gary Bagley and the Rev. Kerry Horn officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cameron. LaVern was born Jan. 28, 1936, in Cameron, to Allen E. Dodson and Verna Bailey Dodson. After graduating from C.H.Yoe High School, she studied music at Mary Hardin-Baylor College. She married Lt. John H. Delony of Ruston, La., in 1955. John preceded her in death April 2, 1962. She married Don G. Humble in 1975. LaVern was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and served as a pianist for many years at the Methodist Church and First Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was dearly loved by her family and friends. She was also preceded in death by her mother and father. Survivors include her husband, retired district judge, Don G. Humble of Cameron; two sons, James H. Delony of Cameron, and David A. Delony and wife, Karen, of Cypress; two stepsons, Mark M. Humble of Cameron, and Monty G. Humble of Dallas; two daughters, Melissa Delony Williams and husband, Tommy, of Cameron, and Laura Delony Horn and husband, Kerry, of Cleburne; brother, Allen E. Dodson Jr. and wife, Joan, of Weatherford; and 12 grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Choir Fund of First United Methodist Church in Cameron.
