Leland McClain Obituary

Leland McClain, 76, entered into rest Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, at Criswell Cemetery with the Rev. Joe Goodson, Elder, Bill Walker and Chaplin Kevin Avery officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Adams Funeral Home. Mr. McClain was born Sept. 12, 1931, in Delight, Ark., to George and Bertha McClain. He married Jessie Louise Castleberry Nov. 22, 1968, in Groesbeck, Texas; she preceded him in death Dec. 16, 1985. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, and a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed his children and grandchildren. Survivors include four sons, Richard McClain of Waco, John and wife, Alice McClain of Marlin, George McClain of Stonington, Ill., and Pete and wife, Cassie McClain of Rosebud; one daughter, Loretta and Robert Castlow of Sommerville, Texas; two brothers, Cleland and wife, Barbara McClain of Dawson, Texas, and William and wife, Carol McClain of Peekskille, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. What a joy it was knowing you for 13 yrs. You were a wonderful father in law and man, I loved you as if you were my own. You taught me, you gave me advise, but most of all you loved me as if I was your own. You will forever be in my heart.I love ya! R.I.P DADDY.

You were on cool brother to have in my life. I will never forget all the things we did together as kids and even as grow men.. You was always there when I needed someone to talk to and was ready to play some bones with me and my kids or with your kids. You was a great father and a very respected uncle my all my kids.
