Lidia P. Lopez

Lidia P. Lopez, 60 of Waco, passed away on May 10, 2006 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She left our lives to be with the Lord. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 12, 2006, at Pecan Grove Funeral home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. on Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Rosebud Cemetery. Lidia was born and raised in Rosebud, Texas to Sanjuana and Guadalupe Portillo. She moved to Waco, where she lived most of her life. Lidia worked at Spenco medical for 21 years. She touched the hearts and lives of many people. She was married to Joe Lopez for 30 years. Her parents, brother Jerome Portillo, and granddaughter Emily Jimenez preceded her in death. Lidia is survived by her husband, Joe Lopez; daughter Bernadina Jimenez and fiancŽe Daniel Sanchez of Waco; sons Marcelo "J.V" Jimenez, Jr. and wife Barbara, Oscar Lopez and wife Dolores, and Joseph Lopez and wife Delia, all of Waco; Her pride and joy, her 8 grandchildren Emilio Jimenez, Joshua Quistian, Marisa Quistion, Miranda Lara, Nicholas Jimenez, Ariana Lopez, Angeliya Lopez, Daniel Herrera, and Joseph Lopez, Jr., due in July; brothers Epifiano Portillo, Guadalupe Portillo, Jr., Jesse Portillo, Jerome Portillo and wife Tony, Robert Portillo and wife Martha, Rosendo Portillo and wife Patricia, Angel Portillo and wife Ida, Joe Portillo and wife Tina, Domingo Portillo and wife Rosa, and Pablo Portillo and wife Maria. Pallbearers will be Leon Olvera, Carlos Olvera, Ricky Balderas, Michael Garcia, Michael Portillo, and Daniel Sanchez. Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Quistion and Emilio Jimenez.
