Linda Richardson Obituary

Linda Richardson of Temple went to be with her Lord Saturday, May 25, 2024. Graveside services will be at 2:00pm, Thursday, May 30, at Waco Memorial Park with Rev. Chase Bowers officiating. Visitation will be that morning, 10-11:30am, Thursday, May 30, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple. Linda was born on November 11, 1942, in Waco to Glenn and Doris Underhill. She was a graduate of Waco University High School. Linda met her future husband, George Richardson of Waco, while both worked at HEB and married him in 1961 at Beverly Hills Baptist Church. After leaving the workforce for a number of years to care for their two sons, she returned to work and was a long-time employee of Texas Power and Light/TXU serving in the Southern Region Office as both an Administrative Assistant and later as a Drafter until her retirement. Linda actively served in multiple churches during her life, most notably Speegleville Baptist. She especially loved teaching Bible stories to young children. For years, she devoted hours each week to preparing creative lessons and activities for the kids in her classes. She also loved reading, cooking, quilting, and spending time with her grandchildren. Linda has now joined George in the presence of her Savior. She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband of 53 years, George Richardson. She is survived by sons, David Richardson and wife, Angela of Temple, and Daryl Richardson and wife, Tina of Bandera; grandchildren, Brayden and wife Allison, Bryce, Braxton, Brynlee, and Skyler; and sister, Sharon Fisher of Mansfield. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to Amedisys Hospice and all her wonderful friends, nurses, and caregivers at Mercy House of Temple, Stoneybrook of Belton, and Visiting Angels. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to Amedisys Hospice or Visiting Angels.

David and Daryl, I am so sorry for your loss. You probably don't remember me but we went to Speegleville Baptist Church with your family. Your mom was so sweet. When I think of your mom it was her smile and her love for you boys. I know you will miss her terribly....Our loss is Heavens gain!

Linda was a very sweet lady whom I was privileged to know at Speegleville Baptist Church. She was caring, thoughtful and enthusiastic about working with the kids and adults.
