Marilyn Duff Obituary

Marilyn Money Duff

Apr 27, 1934 - Sep 16, 2025

On Tuesday September 16th, 2025, Marilyn Hancock Duff of Woodway Texas went to the Lord peacefully in the comfort of her home.

Born April 27, 1934. In Wichita Falls, Texas to Winnie Clara and Lewis Cecil Berry. They named her Patsy Llean Berry. Both parents passed away when she was very young. She was fostered with both of her brothers and then she was sent to the Fort Worth Orphanage.

Through the miracle of adoption, Patsy was adopted by Florence and Sanford Hancock of Marlin, Texas on April 30th, 1941, and gave her the name Marilyn. A beautiful new world opened as she had four cousins that were like brothers and sisters. They were all very close in age and grew up together, never missing a chance to celebrate with each other. As they grew older and had their own families, reunions at "The Nutt" House in Marlin would typically number in the 50's.

After high school she attended Sam Houston State and then transferred to Southwestern in Georgetown. Here she joined Tri Delta Sorority. As a Tri-Delt, she met a Kappa Sigma, Robert Duff. They later became engaged and were married on January 10, 1953, and then moved to Kansas where Robert served with the Navy. Later a career move took them to Dallas, then Waco, where they built their home on the #3 at the Lake Waco golf course. Eventually they landed as entrepreneurs of Duff's Furniture, Hamilton Texas in 1975.

Their marriage was blessed with three children, Randolph Duff, Robert Duff, and wife Brenda and Diane and husband Shawn Hunt. Over the years her family bloomed with grandchildren Caleb Duff, Dustin Duff and with Amber, Michael McCarthey, Scott Duff, Jessica Duff, who gave her grandmother the name "Money", Duff Hunt engaged to Anna Steakley, Daxon Hunt and Dane Hunt.

Many blessings came with great-grandchildren, Ethan, Erin, Madison and Morgan Duf, Phoenix and Scarlette Duff, and Caiden Belile. Then lastly Parker Hunt who was her last little soul mate.

Preceded in death were parents Winnie Lewis Berry, Brother Lewis Jarvis Berry, adopted parents Florence and Sanford Hancock, husband W. Robert Duff and brother Melvin Berry.

The family would like to let everyone know how professional and caring the members of the Men and Women are from the City of Woodway Police and First Responders during these past three years. We would also like to thank Doctors Noah Newton and Allison Achilefu, as well as their staff at Baylor Scott and White for the care they gave Marilyn and lastly Accent Care Home Health and Hospice for their professional and caring service.

Finally, Marilyn will be laid to rest at her family plot at Stranger Cemetery in Stranger, Texas surrounded by her family.

Although I never had the privilege of meeting Marilyn, I know what a blessing she was to Diane and Shawn after the birth of the triplets, moving into their home and helping with their care. She must have been a wonderful person. All the family will have great memories and will miss her terribly.

Marilyn was a long time family friend who was a blessing to know as was her husband Robert. My brother and I grew up along side Randolph, Rob and Diane who was our little twirler. I was blessed to be around when the triplets made their Hunt debut and it was a joy to watch Robert and Marilyn dote on the baby boys. I missed Robert after he passed and will miss Marilyn too. Love to her family and friends. Kay Kerbow Kibbe. My mom and dad will welcome Marilyn just as they did Robert in the great beyond of heaven! They can fling ding again!
