Mike Hutyra Obituary

Mike Hutyra

Mar 2, 1957 - Sept 27, 2022

Mike Hutyra, age 65, of West, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2022.

A Rosary will be recited and Memorial Service held 10 am Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Mike was born March 2, 1957 in Waco, the son of William and Dorothy (Janek) Hutyra. He attended schools in LaVega and was a 1975 graduate of West High School. Mike was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. He worked for OEM Replacement Parts in Dallas for many years. Mike enjoyed hunting, collecting pre-1950 historic guns, and he was an avid marksman. He was known among his shooting groups as "The Mad Bohemian", "Mad Bo", or the "Six Gun Wizard". Mike's quick work and shooting style was patterned after stunts performed by Bill Jordan. He was also member of The Shootists (Men Who Stand in the Gap) and the National Rifle Association.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dwane Hutyra.

Survivors include a niece, Tina Dekle and spouse Davi of Waco; a great niece, Dorothy Dekle; and many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, West Volunteer Ambulance Association, or West Meals on Wheels. A memorial guest book can be found at www.aderholdfuneralhome.com.
