David L. Schiver

David L. Schiver MALMO - David L. Schiver, 59, of Malmo, died Wednesday March 8, 2023 in Malmo after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving wife and children. He was born Aug. 2, 1963 in Quincy, Illinois to Richard and Janice (Gallahar) Schiver. Dave grew up in Oklahoma and was a lifelong fan of the University of Oklahoma football team. He developed an early love for flying and airplane mechanics which propelled him into a 20-year career with Duncan Aviation. He served with pride in the United States Marine Corps from Aug. 3, 1981 until Aug. 2, 1987. In 1998, Dave met the love of his life, Kim Ross. They were married Sept. 11, 1998 and made their home in Malmo. Dave enjoyed NASCAR and was an avid golfer. He also loved the outdoors and looked forward to camping and fishing. Dave and Kim always treasured their time vacationing in Key West, Florida. Dave is survived by his wife, Kim Schiver of Malmo; children, Samantha (Paul) Troyer of Harper, Kansas, Benjamin (Sammi) Ross of Cunningham, Kansas, Melissa (Mike) Miller of Kingman, Kansas; grandchildren, Addison Troyer and George Ross; mother, Janice Schiver of Conrow, Texas; father, Richard Schiver of Bethany, Oklahome; sisters, Theresa Hill of Bellaire, Texas and Lisa Everly of Mustang, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Barbara Schiver. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Malmo Fire Department Saturday, March 18 from noon until 3 pm. A catered dinner will be served at 12:30. Memorial gifts in Dave's honor may be made to the Malmo Fire Department. Pruss-Nabity Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
