Cumberland, MD-Milton Dale Schiver, 83, of Cumberland, MD, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Gilchrist Center, Baltimore, MD
Born April 5, 1939 in Frostburg, MD, Mr. Schiver was the son of the late Frank Schiver and Margaret (Blank) Schiver. He was also preceded in death by two brothers: Richard and William Schiver; and a sister: Virginia Schiver; and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Milton was a graduate of Maryland School for the Deaf in 1959. He was a custodian for several churches in the area for over 22 years and enjoyed taking care of lawns in the area. He was a really hard worker and enjoyed driving around visiting friends and loved spending time with his family.
Milton attended Our Lady of the Mountains Parish and also the Bethany House of the Lord. He attended several Deaf clubs in Frederick, Hagerstown and West Virginia. He loved woodworking, crafts, watching football, and was a huge Redskins fan. He also enjoyed cooking, and collecting wolves and angels.
Milton is survived by his wife of 22 years, Kathleen Kathy Schiver; his son: Nathaniel Schiver; his special nieces: Eileen Morgan and Beverly Schiver, and their families; his sisters-in-law: Hazel Eagan; Melanie Anderson; and Donna Gribben and husband Robert, and their families; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Leon Dillman and wife Jane.
Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD on Monday, August 22, 2022 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 P.M. with Father Greg Chervenak, O.F.M. Cap., officiating.
