LeRoy Russman Obituary
Russman was born Jan. 11.1927 to Ernest and Edna (Peterson) Russman. He grew up on a farm near Bancroft and attended country school. He was the big brother to Evelyn, John and Harlan. His brother Dwain, died at an early age. He loved farming. When he retired from farming, he worked at Waldbaum's Chicken Farm for 20 years. He moved to Valparaiso last year to be nearer to his family.
He married Lidabel Abendroth Nov. 26, 1950. They were blessed with four children, Judy, Joan, Janice and James and raised their family on the farm. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in 1975. Lidabel passed away two years later. He gained three sons-in-law and a daughter-in-law when Judy married Rocky Sorensen, Joani married Kevin Stange, Janice married Gilbert Pluss and Jim married Tami Dohren. He married Dennise Roth, on July 11, 1981. He became "Dad" to young Ryan and stepdad to his brothers Marty, Bobby and Reggie and sister Shelley.
He was preceded in death by his wives; and his daughter, Janice and her husband Gilbert.
Survivors include his children and stepchildren; he was blessed with grandchildren, Jennifer, Emily and Andrew Sorensen. Brandon and Kelli Stange, Melissa Pluss and Lindsay, Christopher and Mitchel Russman. Ryan Roth and his wife Denise gave him Devan and Rhylie and Marty and his wife Gina gave him Vaida. He also enjoyed eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren from his other stepchildren. Paul Aguilar married granddaughter Jennifer Sorensen and they blessed him with two great-granddaughters, Addison and Olivia. Nathan Jamison married Emily Sorensen. Jared Shanahan married Lindsay Russman, giving him another great-granddaughter, Bailey.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 5 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bancroft with Pastor Philip Hale officiating. Interment will be in the Bancroft City Cemetery.
Munderloh Funeral Home in Bancroft is in charge of the arrangements.

Leroy was a guest at my home a few years ago while visiting with his son-in law Kevin.
Leroy entertained us with interesting stories about his life growing up on the farm, his love of music, and performing on the accordian.
