Lila L. Morris

1935 - 2012

OMAHA – Lila Lea Morris, 76, of Omaha, died March 19 in Omaha.
Morris was born Sept. 21, 1935 to Leroy and Ruth (Hanson) Johnson at Fremont. She was baptized and confirmed at Alma Lutheran Church in Mead. She attended Mead Consolidated School and graduated in May, 1953. Following graduation, she worked for Fremont State Company as a receptionist for four years. In 1958, she moved to Lincoln and worked as a receptionist at Security Mutual Life.
On Sept. 25, 1958 she married Edward R. Morris at Alma Lutheran Church. In 1960, the couple moved to Fremont where they lived for 20 years. They moved to Harlan, Iowa in 1980 to manage apartment complexes for the elderly. They retired in 1997.
She was a member of St. Timothy's Lutheran Church in Omaha, Ralston Senior Center and the Scandinavian American Society of Omaha.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and niece, Jolene Johnson.
She is survived by her husband; sister, Elaine Henrichson of Gretna; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale and Dorothy Johnson of Wahoo, Eldon and Beverly Johnson of Yutan; nieces and, Ruth Ann Kennedy of Papillion, Darlene and Randy Glazebrook of Coralville, Iowa, Mary and Rob Miller of Wahoo, Patti and Jerry Layher of Platteview and Judy and Scott Loschen of Erie, Colo.; nephews and spouses, Marc and Angela Johnson of Wahoo, Duane and Cheryl Johnson of Mead, and Paul and Lori Johnson of Hickman; many great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 24 at Alma Lutheran Church in Mead with the Rev. Elena Lamirato officiating.
Visitation will be Friday, March 23 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Interment will be at Alma Lutheran Cemetery.
Casket bearers are Marc Johnson, Duane Johnson, Paul Johnson, Randy Glazebrook, Jerry Layher, Rob Miller and Scott Loschen.
Memorials are suggested to Asera Hospice.
