Linda M. Maly

Linda M. Maly, 62 of Weston, NE entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Bryan West Medical Center in Lincoln, NE. She was born February 4, 1963 in West Point, NE to Bohumil "Ted" and Lorraine (Ortmeier) Uhlik. She graduated from Bishop Neumann High School in 1981, graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a major in Elementary Education and then received her master's degree from Doane College. She was united in marriage to Lyle Maly on July 21, 1984 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Weston, NE. On November 15, 1992 they were blessed with their son Trevor.
Linda spent most of her career teaching kindergarten and first grade at St. John Nepomucene school in Weston, NE. Prior to that she also taught in Bruno, NE and at St Mary's Catholic School in David City, NE. Linda's calling in life was to teach, not just in school but in every area of her life. Her faith was in the forefront of everything she was and did. She was a member of Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Plasi, NE and was part of the Rosary Society.
Using her talents and love of music Linda gave guitar lessons to many students. She enjoyed playing for Mass, and sang at many weddings.
Hobbies included: reading, flowers, golfing with friends and baking. Her apple strudels, pies, and rosettes were in high demand at fundraisers and also sold out weekly at the Lincoln Farmers Market.
Faith, family, and friends were top priorities. Linda always made time for those she loved. Spending time with her grandchildren meant the world to her.
Linda is survived by her husband, Lyle Maly; son, Trevor (Kary) Maly; grandchildren, Miles, Waylon & EllieMae Maly; mother, Lorraine Uhlik; brother, Dave Uhlik; sister, Darlene (John) Kolterman; sisters-in-law, Linda Maly, Laura (Duane) Eivins; nephews, Noah (Allison) Eivins, Sam & Grant Kolterman; niece, Sarah Kolterman; and her beloved dog Max.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bohumil "Ted" Uhlik; parents-in-law, Roman and Margaret Maly; nephew, Noah Kolterman.
Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday (5/21/25) 10:00am at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Weston, NE.
Visitation, Tuesday (5/20/25) 5-7 pm with a 7pm Rosary all at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Plasi, NE.
Interment at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery
