Peg was one of the finest women I've ever had the pleasure of knowing . I am so sorry for all of the Luttons for losing their precious matriarch. What an example she was to all of them and to her friends. She will always be fondly remembered for her character, talents, patience, and kindness.

Peg, together with her husband Dee, has played an important role in my life. They welcomed me in their home in Ashland when I arrived as a 17 years old AFS exchange student from Sweden in 1966. Peg made me feel at home and she supported every attempt from my side to become part of the Ashland community during that year, as well as part of her family with my sister Susan and my brothers Richard and David. Through the years I have had the honor of welcoming Peg and Dee in Sweden a few times, as well as others in her family, and I have visited Ashland on numerous occasions. For each time we met we grow tighter together. Peg kept me informed of her family and of what happened in the Ashland community and about people I knew. We talked on the phone quite regularly during the years. These conversations included a variety of philosophical subjects and became very important to me. She informed me about my classmates and other friends, and family events. Our last phone conversation was about a month before she passed away, she was as bright as she had been throughout her life. We were mentioning meeting next time in August this year, when she would turn hundred. I will miss Peg dearly, and so will my wife Gunilla and my children.

What a lady, a mentor, a historian, a reader, a musician, a friend to many, a leader, a traveler and a lovely person. We miss her.

Peg was such an important player in her role in the Ashland Arts Council for decades. She gave tours of St Stephens and demonstrated her skills on the pump organ there. We will miss our wonderful conversations with Peg and her historical depictions of our community. She brought back to life the memories of my grandfather, Edwin Lewis, (1900-1965) as she had known and spoke to him. Edwin, Eddie, tuned some of the organs Peg played on. We will miss her dearly.
