Marjorie Anderson Obituary

Marjorie Anderson

January 31, 1936 - July 8, 2025

Marjorie Mae (Allington) Anderson, 89, passed away on July 8, 2025 at Oxbow Living Center in Ashland, NE. Marjorie, commonly known as Marge or Margie, was born on January 31, 1936, in a small farmhouse outside of Valley, NE to Willard & Mae Allington.

Marge graduated from high school in 1953, was married that same year, and began her family and life as a homemaker, where she enjoyed taking care of everyone. Throughout the years, Marge worked as a bookkeeper for Anderson Thoroughbred Farms, receptionist at 'Touch of Magic' Salon, custodian at the First Christian Church, and assisted with art sales at the Willow Point Gallery.

Throughout many of her years, Marge was part of several organizations including Wann Christian Church and the Wann Ladies Aid, First Christian Church of Ashland, the Christian Sisters, and the Ashland Historical Society. In 2009, Marge was awarded the title of Ashland's Stir-Up Queen.

In her free time when she wasn't spending time with those she loved and creating large spreads of food for her family & friends, Marge thoroughly enjoyed dancing, attending the horse races, and traveling. If you knew Marge, you knew she was always put together with a smile on her face – that included makeup, jewelry, hair done, high heels, and a decorative jacket for every occasion.

Marge was well known for many delicious favorites in the kitchen, which included fried chicken in her electric skillet, homemade noodles, Angel Food cake, deviled eggs, cream cheese mints, and ramen noodles.

Marge is survived by her children Marsha & Kenny Danner, David & Melissa Anderson, Michelle Westling, and Douglas & Liesa Anderson – all of Ashland, NE; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-granddaughters, (sister) Peggy Aksamit of Lincoln, NE, (brother-in-law) Ivan Rogers of Ashland, NE, many nieces and nephews.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents, (sister) Mary Rogers, (brother & sister-in-law) Wendell & Judy Allington, (brother-in-law) Dick Aksamit, (son-in-law) Larry Westling, (nephews) Michael Aksamit and Rick Rogers.

We all know Marge is smiling down on us from heaven with a full glass of crisp white wine, a bowl of chips & cheese, saying, "This is so special".
