Giuseppe Caruso

Giuseppe Joe Caruso Of West Newton, died peacefully Friday evening June 24th, 2011 at the Faulkner Hospital in Boston surrounded by his loving family after a long illness at the age of 88. Born in Platania, Italy on February 19, 1923, son of the late George and Nicoletta (Paola) Caruso; he was raised in Italy and immigrated to the United States as a young man and resided in Waltham for over 15 years and in West Newton for over 48 years. A self-employed Landscaper, Mr. Caruso owned and operated his own landscaping business for over 60 years. He was an avid worker and passionate about his business. Family was most important to him and in his spare time he enjoyed gardening. He was generous, had great strength and valued every bit of life. Beloved husband for 59 years to the late Concetta Connie (Nicolazzo) Caruso. He is survived by his devoted children Joseph G. Caruso and his wife Marie (Grillo) Caruso of West Newton and Dr. Joanne Caruso and her husband Antonio Sarandrea of West Newton, his cherished grandchildren Jennifer-Ann Caruso, Joseph L. Caruso, Amanda Caruso Bryan and her husband Christopher, Tonino and Christian Sarandrea, his dear brothers Gabriel Caruso and his wife Pasqualina of Waltham and the late Philip Caruso and his wife Caterina Caruso of Connecticut, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Pasqualina (Nicolazzo) Mercuri and her husband Domenic of Auburndale. In addition he is survived by many nieces & nephews. Brother-in-law of the late Alfonsina Butera.
