John Charles "Charlie" Nagel

1953 - 2021

John Charles 'Charlie' Nagel, 67, of Wapakoneta, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021, at Lima Memorial Health emergency room.
He was born June 24, 1953, in Lima, the son of John Paul and Mona (Kendall) Nagel, who preceded him in death.
Survivors include his fiancée, Nancy Ann Norris; children, Matthew (Heather) Nagel, Mason, OH, Kelli (Joseph) White, Powell, OH, Rebecca (Bryan) McClain, Dublin, OH, Michael (Shelly) Nagel, Wapakoneta; nine grandchildren, Alexander Nagel, Amelia Nagel, Olivia White, Bennett White, Riley McClain, Austin McClain, Nolan McClain, Cecilia Nagel, Max Nagel; siblings, Hans Nagel, Bridget (Mark) Weller, Priscilla (Rich) Evans, Gretchen (Dick) Sheely, Eric Nagel, all of Wapakoneta; many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by a son, Jason Nagel; and a brother, Andy Nagel.
Charlie worked as an electrician with Nagel Electric, and retired from Honda Anna Engine Plant. He was a 1972 graduate of St. Joseph High School, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Charlie grew up with a strong work ethic, and enjoyed working on race cars. He most enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
The family will receive family and friends 4-6 p.m., Monday, Jan. 25, 2021, at the Eley Funeral Home and Crematory, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta. Funeral services will be 6 p.m., Monday at the funeral home, with Pastor Daniel Messner officiating. Burial will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021, at the Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana, OH.
