Marilyn Rose (Kerr) Setters Armer, 95, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 5:55 p.m., Sunday, September 28, 2025 at Wapak Manor. She was born on April 25, 1930 in Perry Township, Allen County to Raymond E. and C. Marie (Graham) Kerr who preceded her in death. On March 19, 1983, she married David H. Armer, who passed away on September 12, 2021.
She was the mother of Lynette Spees Stutzman, of Wapakoneta, Karen (Darrell) Spencer, of Uniopolis, Gloria Harrod, of Quincy and Paul (Ronelle) Setters, of Apache Junction, AZ; as well as Pam (Eric) Flick, of Lima, Ed (Becky) Armer of Green Bay, WI, Kathy (Chris) Wilkey, of Dayton, Angie (Jim) Allen of KY, and Missie (Todd) Hollman, of St. Marys. Survivors also include many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, along with an extended family of nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by three sons-in-law, Michael Harrod, Larry Spees, and Michael Stutzman; two great-grandsons, Dakota Rostorfer and Jonathan Parent; four brothers, Harold, Byron, Raymond Jr. and John Kerr; three sisters, Ruby Brown Collins, Helen Long and Ruth Werling; and her previous husband, Verner L. Setters.
A 1948 graduate of Shawnee High School, Marilyn worked as the Deputy Clerk of Courts, Auglaize County, for 27 years. For eight years she volunteered her time as a 4-H Advisor in Waynesfield and was a member of the Ohio Good Sam Camping Club. Throughout her career and after, Marilyn was a member of the Ohio Federation of Business & Professional Women and the Auglaize County Chapter #9 of Public Employee Retirees, Inc.
Marilyn was family focused and that never wavered as her family grew and grew, spanning five generations. She loved spending peaceful moments camping, keeping her hands busy with all kinds of sewing projects, and spending time outdoors tending to her garden or watching the birds.
Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2025 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Rev. Glory Geib will officiate and interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 2, 2025 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Interim Healthcare - Hospice.
