Deanna Hensley Obituary

Deanna Dee Devlin Hensley (Martinez), 83, passed away peacefully on Oct 1, 2025, at her home in Warrensburg, surrounded by her loving family.
Deanna was born April 18, 1942, in Kansas City, MO. Daughter of Ellen and John Devlin. She married James Martinez on December 31, 1959. Deanna loved her family dearly but most of all she loved Jesus Christ and worshiped him daily. If there was one thing she would of wanted is for everybody to be saved so she could see them again in heaven. Deannas favorite prayer was Psalms 23, she quoted it the day before she passed.
Deanna survived by her sisters; Carol Brady, Linda, Diane and Ruby Keim-Clifton; Children; Randy Martinez, Ricky & Loretta Martinez, Tammy & Cary Murphy, James & Lisa Martinez, Traci Oliver & Ricky Atkinson, Michelle Dennis and Burgandy Martinez, 57 grandchildren, 92 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her husband; James Martinez, Parents; Ellen & John Devlin, Daughters; Tanya Martin and Diane Martinez, Brothers; Jerry Devlin, Jimmy Devlin and Ronnie Devlin, Sisters; Sandy Newton and her oldest great grandson; Dre Beaman.
A private funeral service will be held at 11:00a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2025. With her son, Cary Murphy officiating.
The family will be having a celebration of life right after the burial, at 12:00p.m. at the Hallar Hall in Holden, Missouri.

I miss you dearly everyday frandma D u will be missed, I´ll always have those memories of I on my front porch shaking ur butt and singing along with everyone and saying oh fuzzy tree and then saying where´s those horses at and just talking away to me. Tell great grandma Donna and grandpa Brad i love and miss them just as well as everyone else up there

I still have dreams about walking around the farm house. They're so vivid, I have to remind myself I'm dreaming. As I make my way around, I see a full, busy kitchen with grandkids sneaking into the flour and potatoes, Grandma cooking up a storm with my aunts helping. I walk up that dark, scary stairwell and go into the rooms, each filled with odds and ends that Grandma called her treasure. There was always something fun to do with Grandma Dee. Whether she was taking us to the candy shops, thrift stores, or through cemeteries while telling us ghost stories-- there was never a dull moment. Grandma was so ornery and adorably mischievous-- the pranks she would play! I still remember doing the duck waddle with her and she would laugh and laugh at her big ol' butt (her words!) shaking while she quacked. She would sing "How much is that doggie in the window?" and I sing it to my kids, too. Grandma really loved children and filled all of our childhoods with happy, fun, wholesome memories. For most of us, our earliest memories of Grandma Dee are memories of Bible study, her teaching us that Jesus is the way, and stories of our Grandpa Jimmy. She never stopped talking about how much she missed him and how much she couldn't wait to go to Heaven and see him again. It is extremely bittersweet that she finally got her wish after all of these years. We will miss her here on Earth, but nothing compares to what she has now. She lived a beautiful life as a servant of the Lord and praised Him every chance she got. She led many of her family to Christ and was a kind, loving Grandma and friend. I am so thankful for the videos and pictures of her that have been posted. To hear her voice again for the first time in many years was very heartwarming and beautiful. She sounded the same as I remembered. Unfortunately, for me personally, I didn't get to see much of Grandma Dee over the last several years, as I live across the country and do not make it up much. I'll miss Grandma but feel at peace with letting her go because she is in Heaven with so many loved ones and best of all, Jesus.

What i will always remember is how much she loved Jesus and her family. Even when she didn't know alot of what was going on, she still loved deeply. So sorry for your loss here on earth, but remember that one day you will meet again.
