Brian McLoone Obituary

Red Wing - Brian Charles McLoone

October 4, 1939 - May 25, 2025

Brian Charles McLoone, 85, of Wauwatosa, WI, formerly of Red Wing, MN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 25, 2025.

Brian was born October 4, 1939, in Waseca, MN, to Lester and Lucille (Schneider) McLoone. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1958 and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps the same year. On August 22, 1959 he married Gloria (Bower) McLoone, and they were married for 65 years.

Following his military service, Brian pursued higher education and earned both undergraduate and master's degrees from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. He devoted 33 years of his professional life to the Minnesota Correctional Facility, Red Wing, where he served as a guidance counselor and later a teacher until his retirement.

Brian had many cars and enjoyed working on them, attending estate sales and auctions, and restoring antique furniture with Gloria. The couple ran an antique business in Red Wing, MN.

A devoted Minnesota Gophers and Vikings fan, Brian enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams and occasionally took trips to see games with his children. He had a love for cats, and always had at least one for a family pet.

Brian is survived by his wife, Gloria; his children: Lisa (Jim Norby) Linder, Mari (Dan) McLoone-Jambura, Michael (Jaime) McLoone, and Erin McLoone; his grandchildren: Christopher (Emilie) Linder, Melissa (Michael) Hoffer, Andrew (Quinn) Jambura, Bridget Jambura, and Meredith Jambura; and great-grandchildren: Caden Chipps, Gavin Chipps, Gabrielle Linder, Cooper Linder, Willem Linder, Peyton Linder, Kamrie Hoffer; and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Patricia Byron.

Visitation will be held from 10am, service at 11 am Friday, June 20, 2025 at Church of St. Joseph, Red Wing, MN.

We are very saddened to hear of Brian's passing. Brain and Gloria were our neighbors in Red Wing, for many years. They spent alot of time sitting out on the porch and we always enjoyed stopping to chat for a bit when we'd walk by. They've been missed since their move to Wisconsin. Brian was a talker and was such a nice man. He will be missed.
