Thinking back on Al, I wish I got to know him better. He was always kid to me and very intelligent. He raised his children to be strong and decent people. When we leave this earth, the only thing that we leave behind that lasts are our children and his are a legacy that I knw that he was proud of. May Al rest in peace

My condolences to the Navas family. Col. Navas was my boss when I was assigned to the 374th Tactical Airlift Wing at Clark AB, Republic of the Philippines, 1974-1975. He was a great leader and friend.

Al was my mom's (Griselda DeCastro Boler) first cousin. I last saw him in 1995 when my husband, son and I joined my mom at a Gandia family reunion in Arecibo. He was such an affable person and the stories of his days in Puerto Rico were great to hear (the B&B that many of us stayed in in the Condado in San Juan had been the Navas family home in the 40s).

Please accept my belated condolences and that of all the Bolers for your loss. I just found this when Googling Al in hopes of getting contact info for our relatives in Puerto Rico.

We extend our heart felt sympathies to you. I worked for Col Navas over fifty years ago and we kept in touch for years.
He was a long time friend and advisor.

Dear Navas Family,

Very sorry for your loss. I became good friends with Al through my brother-in-law Mike Ryan, many years ago. Along with another good friend, Doug Reickert, we all attended the annual Touchdown Club dinner in Washington. It was always a great night! I will miss my good friend.
RIP Touchdowner

May God watch over your family as well as Al did. All and your entire family sacrificed so much in the defense of our country. He has been called home and is with Barbara in peace. God Bless and thank you all for what he did.
