Passed away on May 7, 2003. A burial service for ALLAN R. JONES will be held June 10 at 9:00 a.m. at Arlington National Cemetery. Born in Detroit, Mr. Jones, a Korean War Army veteran, earned the Purple Heart and Silver Star Medal. He graduated from the College of William and Mary.
Mr. Jones retired in 1993 after 20 years as a lobbyist for the American Trucking Associations. Before joining ATA, he served as legislative assistant to Sen. William Spong and the Senate Commerce Committee. Prior to that, he was a reporter for the Richmond (VA) Times Dispatch.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy Jones; a son, Allan R. Jones, Jr.; a daughter, Caitlin Tinsley; two sisters, Caroline Wiley and Elisa McFadden; three stepdaughters, Heather Rossen, Ashleigh Rossen, and Carrie Mendenhall.
