Allen is a very nice guy and was friendly to everyone he knew. He always made me laugh, just a fun person to be around. He would come to family parties at Judy's house all the time. We all will miss him. My sympathies to his family. Forrest

Al and I also worked together for many years. Al was a unique character that will be deeply missed by many. He was always friendly (and even more like an uncle) to many of his co-worker's children, including my own. May God keep and comfort all whom loved him and all whom he loved.

Words cannot begin to express the loss I feel after 26 years. Allen and I were not only co-workers but friends and family to each other. I will miss him.

It's as hard to believe I'll never again get a laugh out of Allen with my affectionate referral to him as "Big Al!" as it is to realize that the extraordinary 3-decade working team he and my sister, Judith Campbell, forged at Rogers & Wells is no more. Theirs was a relationship beyond boss and subordinate - Allen was more like family to us, and especially my 3 nephews - and one that withstood many changes at that venerable old firm, including its very cessation. Allen was tough but no taskmaster, his love of music was great and amazing in its scope, and he could have given many a standup comic a run for their money with his witty observations that made both the working environment and his presence in our lives all the better. Allen will be greatly missed but never forgotten by those whose hearts and minds he touched, and I know that somewhere his immortal soul both smiles on us and waits for us. And like the song says, "We're gonna have a good time then!" Rest peaceful and easy, Big Al. We love you always.

I've known Allen since my sister Judith Campbell starting working with him, seems like a such a long time ago, when they were at Rogers and Wells. Allen is a part of our family. We will always have wonderful memories of him. He was there when my youngest son Nicholas was born, Judy kept him while I served in the Army. She'd bring Nick to the office and Allen would just play with Nick. Nick loved him. When Nick started driving he sold him his first car. Then when Judy's son Myles was born, he's was there too. Myles calls him Uncle Al. That's just a few of the many wonderful memories we have with Allen. He touched so many lives and was so good to everyone he met. He was so funny, we always joked and laughed when we saw him. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. May God Bless you and keep you. Allen is the best. Jackie

To Allen's family and friends:
In your time of loss, please accept my heartfelt sympathy. I met Allen in 1990 at Rogers & Wells, and since my departure in 1995, have remained a friend. Allen was one of those people who come into your life for a lifetime, not just a season, and I will miss him dearly. Given the seed that he has sown I am comforted in knowing that Allen is now at peace. May the goodness and mercy of God sustain us all in this time of need.
