ALLEN OBOLER Obituary

Dr. ALLEN ALBERT OBOLER, M.D.  (Age 74)
Of Washington, DC and Sarasota, Florida, died after a brave battle with cancer in New York City, NY on July 2, 2016. Allen, husband of Lynn Oboler and father of Lara and Josh Oboler, dear father-in-law of Lou and Diana, and younger brother to Bea, was an air-force veteran, a renowned cardiologist, a loving father and husband, a doting grandfather of Zoe, Henry, Ava, Gabe and Stella, and a lover of life. Along with his friends and family, he traveled the world, visiting every continent, the Arctic and the Antarctic and everywhere in between. He was a gourmand who made it his goal to experience the great restaurants of his day, from the Michelin three-star to the best burger in the world. His sense of style and fashion were his calling card, as was his intellectual curiosity, generosity, impeccable character, moral compass and irrepressible sense of humor. He touched many lives, and he will be missed greatly. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5 at the Washington Hebrew Congregation, 3935 Macomb Street NW, Washington, DC 20016. The family will receive visitors in DC following the burial on Tuesday, July 5, from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, July 6 at 4700 32nd St., NW, Washington, DC 20008. The family will receive visitors in New York City from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 7 at 815 Park Avenue, Apt. 14AB, New York, NY 10021. Donations may be made in Allen''s name to: Jewish Child Care Association ("JCCA"), 120 Wall Street, New York, NY 10005, http://www.jccany.org/donate
