ALLISON HART Obituary

HART Allison Riester Hart "Allie" Beloved and cherished daughter of Bryan and Jessica (Riester) Hart, tragically died on Monday, September 13, 2021. She was five years old. Born on June 18, 2016, in Washington, DC, Allison was a joy and a light to all who knew her. Loving, curious, adventuresome, smart, joyful, vivacious, thoughtful, Allison loved deeply and laughed often. She loved to go on family adventures, whether bike rides to Yards Park, or vacations to the beach, many trips to see her beloved grandparents, playing in the snow, hiking (always the tricky way) and camping, or even just to get ice cream. She was equally happy digging in "mud soup" in the yard or having her nails painted. Her active imagination invented many games and created her "monster" friend who lived in "winter wonderland." Allie delighted in playing with her friends, singing and music, reading, swimming, biking, visiting her favorite playgrounds and splash parks around the District, art projects, her American Girl dolls, dancing, picking flowers, building with Magnatiles and Legos, encountering the Brood X cicadas, and had recently started playing soccer. Allison was also deeply interested in fair and unfair, right and wrong, and curious about the world around her. This summer, she started asking about bike lanes, making the roads safer for cyclists and for kids. She had just started kindergarten at Mundo Verde Calle Ocho, where she blossomed, making new friends and learning Spanish. She talked of growing up to be a "rock scientist" and a mom. Allison was beyond excited to be a big sister to her unborn baby brother. Allison is survived by her parents, Bryan and Jessica; grandparents John and Sally Riester of Wake Forest, NC, and Philip and Sally Hart of Durham, NC; aunt Sarah Hart, uncle Eric Morris, and cousin Elsie Hart Morris of Asheville, NC; and godfather Jonathan Tipton of Washington, DC. The family is so grateful for the outpouring of love and support from our family, friends, Brookland neighbors, and Mundo Verde community. Allison will be deeply, deeply missed. A private memorial service will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021.A private memorial service will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021.
