On Monday, March 22, 2021, God called home Amanda Shenell Cobb. She was born May 14, 1963. She leaves to mourn, her beloved husband, Melvin S. Cobb, son, James S. Cobb, mother, Eleanor White, father, George White, two brothers, Andrew J. White and Kennith White, a half sister, Diane Quirley and a host of relatives and friends. Amanda was preceded in death by her brother, George A. White. Viewing, 9 a.m. until time of Service, 11 a.m., Saturday, April 3, 2021 in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640. My deepest sympathies to Melvin, James and all the family! Amanda was a kind & thoughtful coworker and friend. She was an asset to our agency (FMCS) and she will be truly missed. Amanda always had a smile on her face whenever we encountered each other over the years and she was acquainted with my in-laws from their old neighborhood (Eckington) in Northeast, Washington D.C. She was a joy to work with - ALWAYS! Rest in Power!
