On Friday, January 21, 2011 of Chevy Chase, MD. Husband of the late Ida Orme Cummings. Father of Cecilia C. Cummings and Elizabeth C. Diller. Grandfather of Kellie Hanrahan, Chris Amtower, Andrew, Michael, James, Catherine, Thomas and John Paul Diller. Great grandfather of 11. Friends will be received at PUMPHREY'S BETHESDA-CHEVY CHASE FUNERAL HOME, 7557 Wisconsin Ave., Bethesda, MD on Monday, January 24 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at The Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament, 6001 Western Ave., NW, Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 11 a.m. Interment St. John's Cemetery, Forest Glen. Grandad,
I cannot beleive you are gone. You were someone who I thought would always be around. Even though I may not have shown it much, I do love you very much. It also makes me feel better knowing you are with your mom and dad, and Ida again.
So I will remember you with all the fond memories I have of you. You will allways be in my heart. And no, I don't think it is all the Beatles fault.

Dear Betsy and Ceci,
We learned the sad news of your father's passing from Lois. He was a wonderful, thoughtful next door neighbor to us for many years. When we last visited him several years ago, it occurred to both Bob and me that he also provided a model to emulate for how to negotiate that last trimester of live.
