BOLER ANNE PATRICIA COAKLEY BOLER "Pat" Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on February 19, 2022, at the age 82. Pat grew up on a family farm in Skibbereen, County Cork, Ireland and came to the United States at the age of 20 in 1959. She met the love of her life, Jim Boler, during a Catholic Young Adults trip to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware in 1963. They were happily married for 52 years and raised four children together within the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Parish Community, in Potomac, Maryland. Later, they would become doting grandparents to 15 grandchildren. Pat was a devout Catholic and she was loved, respected, and admired by her family and friends. Her laughter was infectious and her kindness, compassion, and loving Irish accent warmed the hearts of so many. Pat was a wonderful cook, welcoming hostess, and managed her large family with grace. She was an active member of Our Lady of Mercy Parish for over fifty years, active in their Sodality of Our Lady Group and was a member of the Christ Child Society. She also served alongside her husband as a Eucharistic Minister. She lived a life of faith, family, and friendship and received much comfort and joy from giving to others. Some of her happiest memories came during Boler/Falvey beach vacations with the family of Mary and John Falvey (her sister and brother-in-law). She loved the annual gathering with all of her children and grandchildren together enjoying the beach, nightly happy hours and delicious family feasts. She was recently interviewed by one of her grandchildren for a school history project on the topic of immigration. When asked why she decided to come to the United States, she answered, "America is the greatest country in the world. It is the land of opportunity where anyone can achieve anything they want as long as they work hard, do the right thing, and have faith in God." By staying true to the beliefs that led her family to America, Pat and Jim were truly blessed and served as exemplary role models of faith, perseverance, fortitude, hard work and compassion to their children, relatives, friends, and neighbors. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who was loved dearly and will be greatly missed. She was predeceased by her adored husband James, by her parents, John Joseph Coakley, Annie (Donellen) Coakley, and her brothers Cornelius, John (Sean), and Daniel Coakley. Pat is survived by her four children, Jim (Lynn) of Niskayuna, NY, Anne Marie Kirlin (Tim) of Chevy Chase, MD, Brendan (Jennifer) of Charlottesville, VA, and Kevin (Claire) of Chatham, NJ, and 15 grandchildren, Patrick, Kevin, and Timmy Kirlin, Sophia, Erin, Allison, Thomas, Brian, Collin, Maggie, Bridget, Grace, Caroline, Bowen, and Molly Boler. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Falvey of Bethesda, MD. There will be a visitation from 5pm to 7pm on Monday, February 28 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 9200 Kentsdale Drive, Potomac, MD. The Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday March 1 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy. The burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, MD.
