ANNE ROBERTSON KENNEDY

Anne Robertson Kennedy passed away on July 3, 2022, after a prolong illness. Anne was born in Scotland May 29, 1931, to the late James and Catherine Anne Robertson Kennedy.

Anne worked at the Royal Bank of Scotland in Glasgow Scotland. She was recruited by the World Bank in Washington, DC to work at their office and had no hesitation in moving to Washington, DC to continue her career.

During Anne's career at the World Bank she enjoyed working with many exceptional people whose diverse backgrounds and experience broadened her perspectives on the relevance of financing's role for fueling an era of explosive growth in trade among America's international partners. Her work often included attending social functions at a number of embassies throughout the metropolitan area. Anne always enjoyed taking her friends to tour the World Bank. She made many lifelong friendships among her co-workers and returned often to lunch with them for many years after her retirement.

Anne traveled frequently to her home in Scotland to visit with family and friends. Her passion for travel let to a Cruise around the world visiting friends along the way, making this a trip of a lifetime. She had also experienced cruising to England on the Queen Elizabeth II and returning to Washington on the Concord.

Anne was a member of the National Presbyterian Church which she attended regularly until she became ill. She was an active member of the Arts Club of Washington, DC where she participated in numerous events. She was also very active in the Scottish Society in Washington, DC and the Living Legacy of Scotland. She attended regularly the annual National Tartan Day in April at the Capital in DC.

Anne is survived by her cousin's Gavin Shanks of Balmaha, Scotland; Margaret Anne Macintosh, Forres, Scotland; Fiona Macintosh, Elgin, Scotland; Marie Macintosh Boyes, Atlanta, GA and Stewart Macintosh Wegman, Atlanta, GA.

The family would like to express our thanks to Liza Chapkovsk and Michell McNally; the Caregivers at The Birchwood Home, Oxon Hills, MD and our special thanks and gratitude to Pamela Roth who looked after Anne's personal affairs with diligence and compassion.

The funeral arrangements are as follows: Thursday, July 28 at 2 p.m. at The National Presbyterian Church, 4101 Nebraska Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20016.

I was just in Woodley Park yesterday to visit a niece who just moved there and thought of sweet Anne who I found through the Living Legacy Of Scotland when we returned to the states after living in Aberdeen Scotland. I loved her drive and ambition to share the culture and created a display we used at a few events. I wish I reached out more when I no longer heard back from my Christmas card. She was a very special bright woman who I will always remember. Peace to the family!( I will look for a picture to share)

I am so sorry to learn that Anne suffered for so long. She was a very interesting and warm friend. Getting to know her was one of the benefits of working for the World Bank. One could make friends with people from a lot of countries. She certainly kept at getting into interesting activities in retirement.
