Anne Mitchell Obituary

Anne Michelle Mitchell, of Alexandria, VA, passed away peacefully in hospice care on Tuesday June 4, 2024.
She was 66 years old. Anne was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on January 25, 1958.
She is survived by her loving husband, Conor Howard; stepdaughter, Natalia Howard; and her sister, Mary Davies.
The family is deeply grateful to the medical team at Inova Alexandria Hospital for their loving care.
Anne worked for more than 35 years as an immigration attorney with her own practice in Alexandria, VA.
She will be remembered at a funeral mass on Friday, June 14 at 2.30 p.m. at The Basilica of St. Mary, 310 South Royal Street, Alexandria, VA 22314.

My deepest condolences to everyone who knew and loved Anne. She and I knew each other for 35 years, were co-workers for a small amount of time, and friends for so many years. She was intelligent, well-read, quick-witted and funny. She was a loyal friend, and was always ready with solid, sensible advice. Conversations with her were always interesting because of her insights into any issue. She died far too young, but packed a lot of living into the years she had. Godspeed, Anne.

Every memory I have of Anne makes me smile. She had the most wonderful dry sense of humor. She was a brilliant Attorney, and genuinely cared about people. Anne affected so many lives in a positive way. My condolences to her family. She will be missed.
