ANNIK KANELLOS Obituary


ANNIK M. KANELLOS (Age 93)  
On October 3, 2015, Annik peacefully died at her home in Alexandria. She was born in Paris in 1922 to Guillaume de Goyon and Ghislaine de Saint Victor Jacquemont de Goyon. In 1948 she and her widowed mother moved to Washington, DC, where she worked for the French Economics Mission associated with the Marshall Plan, later working as a freelance translator. She married Constan G Kanellos in 1952. She is survived by him, a sister-in-law, Hamilton Rodman Kanellos of Charleston, SC; nephews, William Rodman Kanellos of Charleston, SC, George John and Molly Sasser Kanellos of Upper Marlboro, MD; a grand-niece, Anne Hamilton Dulany Kanellos; a grand-nephew, John Hill Carter Kanellos and her cousin, Margaret de Pingre Willis of Texas. In lieu of flowers a contribution can be made to Doctors without Borders USA PO Box 5030, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5020,(www.doctorswithoutborders.org/Donate)Services will be held at Demaine Funeral Home 520 S Washington St., Alexandria, VA, today at 11 a.m. Columbia Gardens Cemetery, Arlington, VA to follow.
