ANTONI MACANDER Obituary
ANTONI MACANDER
Born in Warsaw, Poland on December 29, 1937, he passed away on January 15, 2018 in Bethesda, Maryland. He survived the German Occupation in Poland and forced labor camps during WWII. Antoni was a chemist by profession. He is survived by his beloved wife, Christine Macander; loving father of Monica (David) Macander-Wunder; devoted grandfather of Johanna and Pierson; brother of Aleksander (Izabella) Macander, and his late sister Anne (John) Wiernicki. Antoni was a loving uncle, great-uncle, cousin, and friend to many. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Our Lady Queen of Poland Catholic Church, 9700 Rosensteel Avenue, Silver Spring, Maryland 20910. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN or www.stjude.org. Dear Cee, Monica, Pierson and the Macander Families. Please accept my sincere condolences upon the passing of Antoni. Although the seas were sometimes rough, we always had time to talk, have a beer, blow through politics, and again talk, have another beer, talk politics, we usually always found ourselves on common ground. I'll be making another trip to Washington but I'll be missing your presence. You were an interesting fellow. God Bless you and yours.
