We first met Antonia on Dock C of Gangplank Marina. We had the same houseboat as each other. She was a live aboard and we were weekenders. She was always so nice and warm to us. She also introduced my partner to the Capitol Hill Arts League. She was such a talented artist and a warm and funny individual. As everyone else has said she will be truly missed.

Antonia was so soft-spoken, and my hearing is so bad that I always had to lean in towards her to hear her speak. Such a nice way to converse. I will miss our tete-a-tetes and miss her luminous photos.

Memories of Antonia, her humor, grace and gentleness have occupied my thoughts since I learned late of her passing. I remember times on her houseboat, the city seemingly miles away, quietly talking of life, her children and grandkids, art and politics, even religion (not!)-it is hard to believe she is gone. I met Antonia through her incredible photographs but she became a friend through shared sensibilities. Her children must take comfort in knowing her remarkable elfin spirit was and is part of everyone who knew and loved her. She will continue to live in our hearts and dreams. I feel very fortunate to have known her.

The first time I became acquainted with Antonia Macedo's name was when I happened to walk into the Touchstone Gallery and was stunned by her photographs, which were being displayed. I could not spend enough time absorbing her images onto my mind's eye. Subsequently, I joined CHAL and met a quiet, warm and gracious person. I will miss her and send my deepest condolences to her family.

She leaves a gap, a hole, a distance, a wish, a catch of breath, and continues in our hearts as long as we can remember her.

Antonia will be missed by those who's life she touched. Her warmth and talent were just part of what made up this incredible human being.
The world's a lesser place without her.

Our deepest sympathy to Antonia's family. We knew her only as a photographer and wonderful person at CHAL, but she was so much more!

Antonia was a gentle, kind and talented friend. She touched the lives of many, not only through her wit, charm, intelligence and soft spoken nature, but through the power of her imagery. She shall always be remembered in our hearts. Perhaps it is God's blessing that time truly does heal all wounds. I hope the wounds of family and friends heal swiftly.
