ARLENE PERKINS Obituary
ARLENE ALMA PERKINS
Passed peacefully on Wednesday, April 15, 2015. She is survived by her four sons, Robert (Carolynn), Roscoe (Gloria), Garry and Allan (Laura); eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alice Thomas and Beverly Anderson; one brother, James H. Thomas; and a host of other relatives and friends. A wake will be held at STEWART FUNERAL HOME, 4001 Benning Rd., NE Sunday, April 26 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. Mrs. Perkins will lie in state at Ward Memorial AME Church, 241 42nd St., NE, Monday, April 27 from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Interment Washington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, send donations to Washington Senior Wellness Center, Attn: Julia Cayette, 3001 Alabama Ave., S.E., Washington, DC 20020. Condolences may be made to:www.stewartfuneralhome.com

Mrs. Perkins, I will miss you dearly and our conversations! You had a gentle soul and heart to help others, but your zest for life with your hearty laugh was something special! You so loved the Lord and I will never forget you! May God bless you and your family!

Ms. Perkins was a very kind and gentle natured person. She always had a positive word for the customers at Natl Capt. Bank where I met her. RIP Ms. Perkins and may God bless her family.
