AUGUSTINE S. PUCHRIK  COL, USAF (Ret.)  
Augustine Stephen Puchrik, 91, died Sun- day, October 3, 2010 of respiratory failure at Reston Medical Center, Reston, Virginia, after suffering a stroke.COL Puchrik graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1945. As a career officer in the U.S. Air Force, he was a pilot during the Berlin Airlift as well as a military liaison officer in Cold War-era Germany. His last duty station was at the United States Embassy in Moscow, Russia where he served as the Senior Air Attaché with the State Department. COL Puchrik retired from the US Air Force in 1974 after 29 years of service.In addition to his beloved wife of 62 years, Dorothy Raymond Puchrik, Augustine is survived by four children, Andrew S. Puchrik (Deborah), David V. Puchrik (Constance), Joanne P. Scarpino and Kathleen M. Puchrik (J); five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A son-in-law, Don F. Scarpino, preceded him in death.Interment with Full Military Honors will be January 7, 2011 at 9 a.m. at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia. Services are being handled by Adam-Green Funeral Home, Herndon, Virginia.
