Barbara Blansett Obituary

Barbara May Blansett passed away on May 31, 2025 in Manassas, VA. Born in Clintwood, VA on June 11, 1944 to Nilan and Lockie Stanley. She is survived by her husband, Jonnie Short, her children Peggy Woodson (William), Shirley Smith (Dan), and Christopher Blansett (Ashley); her grandchildren Joshua Jacobs (Rachiel), Tucker Smith, Ashlie Woodson, Stiles and Landry Blansett; great-grandchildren Alyssa and Kaylie Jacobs; siblings Zinnia Blansett, James Stanley and Claudie Stanley; and many loving nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her first husband Claude Blansett and grandson V.P. "Tubby" Jacobs. Barbara retired from Fairfax County Public schools where she worked as a building supervisor for many years. Barbara's greatest joys in life were her family and her God.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. A celebration of life will be held Friday, June 13 at 11 a.m. at Pierce Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, Manassas, VA.
