I´m so sorry to All for the loss of such a wonderful human being! Aunt Bea has influenced and touched so many lives, all are better because of her kindness, love and compassion! I have many fond memories of Aunt Bea! May she rest easy in the arms of our loving Savior Jesus Christ. May you All find peace and love in the memories or Bea!

Dr Runkle ( Bea) was a kind, skilled, intelligent Doctor , colleague. We first met in neonatal unit @ Arlington / VHC , & reunited our professional relationship both of us working @ INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital. She was a mentor to all who sought out her experience & expertise.

"Aunt B" as she was known to those of us who worked in the NICU, dedicated her life to the babies and families under her care. She was incredibly skilled, kind, and patient. Aunt B was loving to all of us who worked with her and I will never forget how supportive she was especially as I was learning the nursing skills needed to care for the fragile babies in the NICU. Thankfully her support and trust in me and others got us through some very tough times! I will miss her and her beautiful smile so very much!

I was lucky enough to work with Dr. Runkle as a new grad nurse at VHC. She taught me so much that has continued to influence the NICU nurse I am today. One of my fondest memories was of her ordering Lost Dog for us all on Sundays and the first time I was there for it I was shy so I ordered one of the cheapest sandwiches on the menu. When she saw what I´d ordered and that I hadn´t ordered a shake she made sure I got a shake the next time, and of course she was right they were the best.
