BENJAMIN JOVEN NAVARRO  "Sonny Boy" (Age 74)  
On Sunday, August 27, 2017, of Gaithersburg, MD, formerly of Surigao del Norte, Philippines. Beloved husband of Wenelisa Navarro for 49 years. Proud father of Pedro (Cathy) Navarro, Eliza (Ravi) Bangit, Severa (Sean) Lynch, and Maria Navarro. Treasured brother of Dolores, Solidad, Myrna, Lydia, Oscar, Lorna, and Eloisa. A loving and protective father, husband and brother. Benjamin held the position of Customs Police Lieutenant in the Bureau of Customs, Manila, Philippines, for 26 years. He was elected to public office and proudly served as Vice Mayor in 2001 in his hometown of Surigao City. Worshipful Brother Sonny Boy Navarro was raised as Master Mason at Jose Rizal Lodge 1172, Manhattan District, New York, and Past Master of Mt. Diwata Lodge 236, F.&A.M., Surigao City; A Past Grand Lodge Inspector and a Knights Templar of the York Rite; and a member of the Ancient Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, Shriners International, Mindanao. A memorial service will be held at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 9705 Summit Ave, Kensington, MD on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 4 p.m. Interment will be private.
