BENNIE HAROLD DIXON  
Beloved son of the late Rufus and Robbie Lee (nee Major) Dixon departed this life at age 77 on June 4, 2017. He was born in Princeton, FL and moved to Washington, DC at the tender age of five. He was baptized at the Third Street Church of God and graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in1958. Upon graduation from Howard University in 1963 with a degree in accounting, he joined Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae) where he had a very accomplished 32 year career in mortgage banking. He leaves to mourn his death two daughters, Sherrie Williams (Richard) and Kimberly Dixon; their mother, Marjorie Dixon; four sisters, Carol Ware (Clifton), Bonita Bantom, Tonya Huntley (Leon) and Brenda Brown; four grandchildren, Lindsey, Adam, Robbie and Kierstyn; close friend, Juanita Woodman and a host of other relatives and friends.Visitation will be held at McGuire Funeral Home, 7400 Georgia Avenue, N.W., Washington, DC 20012 on Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at The Little Church on the grounds of Fort Lincoln Cemetery, 3401 Brentwood Rd., Bladensburg, MD 20722 on Friday, June 17, Final viewing, 10 a.m.; Service, 11 a.m. Interment to follow.In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Third Street Church of God-Nehemiah Fund, 1204 3rd Street, N.W., Washington, DC 20001.

I can't believe my much loved Bennie left us three years ago. I think of him every day when I pray for his family. He will always be in my heart. One of the great loves of my life.

Bennie was special to me. He constantly shared his love for his family throughout the years. I was with him at the time he bought Lindsey's' piano. My last conversation with him was March 2017.I met Carol at the time he lived in St. Louis. I loved him dearly.

It is very difficult to read this obituary; it broke our hearts to learn of Bennie's transition. Bennie, was one of a kind. We are not only fortunate, but better for having known him and to have experienced his distinguished grace and thoughtfulness. Knowing how much his family meant to him and how much Bennie meant to all of you, it is hard to process what must be unimaginable grief.
