Bernard Reuben Ballard (Age 93)
Of Ashburn, Virginia passed on Thursday, January 7, 2021, at Heritage Hall in Leesburg, Virginia. Born Saturday, May 14, 1927, he was the son of the late Thomas Wayne and the late Mary Geneva (Hodgkins) Ballard. He was a 1945 graduate of Western High School in Washington, DC. He retired in 1989 after 45 years with the phone company He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Ballard in 2007. He is survived by his nine children, Karen (John) Normandy of Ashburn, Joyce (Dave) Phillips of Richmond, Jean (John) Nowakowski of Ashburn, David (Pam) Ballard of McLean, Robert (Karen) Ballard of Ashburn, Colleen Vidaurre of Fairfax, Suzanne Ballard of Ashburn, Lisa Vaughn of Fairfax, Greg (Claire) Ballard of Richmond, 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, with four more on the way. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday January 15, 2021 at St. Theresa Catholic Church located at 21371 St. Theresa Lane Ashburn, Virginia 20147. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Private interment will be in Fairfax Memorial Park, Fairfax, VA.
