I am so sorry to hear that Brad is no longer with us besides in our hearts. Thanks Joey for letting me know about all of this. I was also stationed with Brad at Minot AFB ND. Only The Best got to serve up North. I remember one training deployment to Fort Polk La. Brad and Tim were too peas in a pod. Brad was serious about his job but always took care of everyone near to him. His was so much fun to be around. We had built a shower after being in the hole for a few days, I remember Brad saying that if I have to be in the hole then I am not showering until we get out of here, My brown tshirt will turn green, LOL. We all looked at him, then he starting laughing. Whew were we relieved!!!! I learned so much from Brad. He will be greatly missed and I will look at the flag that flys in my yard everyday and will remember his HONOR. Until we meet again my friend. To Brad's family my deepest sympathy, he was one of the most honorable and dedicated men I have ever met in my life. Thanks Brad for touching my life. Doni

I am sad to just learn of Brads passing. I was stationeed with him at Minot AFB, ND. and he was a great guy. He was always willing to lend a hand to get the mission done. He taught me to drive using night vision goggles and after hitting a few trees I got it right. He was always serious about the job in keeping all of us safe. Brad will be missed.

Heart felt hugs going out to the family and friends. We had the honor of meeting Brad, Rebecca, and Isabelle when we all first got to Alaska. We had many plans of things to do together and I was on the phone with Rebecca the day they came to her door. It's a day ill never forget, nor a week for all that the family had to endure. Know we are always here for Rebecca and both girls( such a gift to be given) and thoughts go with Brad's boys too. Now being back here in Alaska I pass the old house often. Hugs and prayers for all!

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Brad, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

Dear Clemmons Family:
I just wanted to let you know that Brad lies next to our son at Arlington. We keep Brad and his family in our prayers. We are fortunate because we live only a short distance from ANC, and can visit our son often. I know it must be very difficult for you being so far away from the person you love so dearly. If there is anything we can do for you, anything you want to put on his grave please contact us and we will do whatever we can. Occasionally items are put on the stones, and if you would like us to send them to you, we would be happy to do that. Even though it must be so hard on all of you to have him so far away, rest assured that Brad is a hero among heroes. Long after we are all gone, people will come to pay their respects to him. Americans visit Arlington National Cemetery to honor this country's heroes. He deserves to be there among them, because he is one of them. May God Bless and comfort you.

Brads Travel Bug with WIT coin

Buck B

November 19, 2007

As the outgoing WIT 6 team leader I was with Brad for most of his side by side training. Brad’s team had arrived at Camp Taji to relieve my team since we were nearing our one year WIT mission. With days running long we never really got to know each other outside of our mission tasks that at times, would have us working close to midnight. Brad was ready to go the minute he stepped off of the helicopter and was very knowledgeable on the mission and what he needed to do to get his team ready. I wish I could discuss day-to-day events but opsec is key to our soldier’s survival and as a soldier, I want all of them to come home safe.
From my heart, I have released several Travel Bugs in memory of Brad that will travel the world letting people know of Brad’s fate. To see the TB go to http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=1237778
My payers are with the Clemmons family and I wish that some day they will log one of the TB’s in there hometown in memory of Brad. God bless Brad and the Clemmons family.

Rest in peace.

August 8, 2007

What can I say or do to take away the pain, nothing, so I will not pretend that I know what to say or do that would bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

Dear Rebecca & Clemmons Family,

Forgive me for taking this long to send you my condolences. I met Rebecca and Brad while I visited my brother (Captain Evans) during the unit's training in the Baltimore area. It broke my heart to hear the news of Brad's passing because I could still hear my brother's words echoing to Rebecca that he would do everything in his power to bring Brad home to her safely. And Brad's passing was something that weighed heavily on my brother's heart (probably all the way until his own untimely death in Dec). May God continue to strengthen you and the Clemmons family. And, I pray that these words find all of you doing well. In the short time that I spent in Brad's presence, I knew that he loved his family. And if you feel up to it, I would like to share the pictures I took of Brad while in Baltimore.

Rebecca, Sorry I don't know you but I know what a great man your husband was...Brad was my first supervisor. He was also a great friend as I am sure that all of his subordinates will quickly tell you. He taught me everything I knew about being a NCO, and a good airman. I had not kept in touch with Brad over the years after he left Minot. I will always miss the times that Timmy, Brad, and I spent together. I wish you all the best.

To Brad's Family,

In a time like this, there doesn't seem to the slightest glimmer of light in your lives. Rebecca is with child and must stay strong for herself and the rest of the children, but I bet it's so hard. At this time, my heart is so sad for you. My husband is also an EOD tech and Brad was his first supervisor. He left two days ago for the land that took Brad and my worst fears are lurking closer and closer each day. I look to you Rebecca for the strenght to keep me going and stay hopeful. I had a great opportunity to meet Brad in Italy for a dinner and I have to say, there are few people you meet that will make an immediate impression....good one that is. Mario, my husband, had nothing but good things to say about your husband and he was so excited that I was going to be able to meet the infamous Brad Clemmons. Like I mentioned before, Mario is over there now and Brad is in his heart. He loved Brad and said that if there was ever an EOD tech you wanted by your side it was Brad. Your sadness is our sadness. God Bless you and Brad. The EOD guys have another Angel to watch over them.

September 7, 2006

Brad, you'll never know how much I enjoyed listening to you tell me about your job and life. I learned how tight the EOD community is from you and how you have to have a love for it. I thank you for letting me into your world and I will always remember you. Rebecca and family, if you ever need anything or anyone, my family and I are here for you whenever you need anything. God Bless You, Brad!

My grandparents are close friends with Brad's grandpartnts (Marge and Richie). That is how I know of Brad. I was in the 6th grade when Brad was in the Gulf War. Our class at school wrote letters to the service men and women. I decided to write to Brad. He was so gracious and wrote me back a nice letter telling me all about his job. I still have that letter to this day. Brad will be missed and never forgotten. I will keep you all in my prayers.

September 1, 2006

To the Family of Master Sgt. Brad A. Clemmons:

My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courgeous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life. We lost a son 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday.

I know first hand there are no words right now that will bring you the comfort and peace you need. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you mourn this loss. We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with. I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally, but none of these courageous men and women will be forgotten. They will never be able to be replaced, but sometime, someday your loving memories will help to sustain you. This courageous soldier will forever now be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well. To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is those wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever. If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero. God Bless this courageous soldier and family.

Brad loved hunting so much he got a tough to get German hunting license. I recall one day out at the USAFE CTS compound I encountered Brad after a hunt and I asked him what he was wearing; he explained the traditional Bavarian look was the required hunting attire in Germany. What a site to see the tough EOD guy dressed up in the green outfit and hat!

I met Brad in 2003 while stationed at Silver Flag (38 CTS)in Germany. Brad always brought a smile followed by laughter to my face. He was that kind of a person who made you well aware of how he felt; good or bad. I feel honored to have known Brad and to have worked with him. He will deeply be missed.

When we are young we believe that we will live forever, the trials and tribulations of life show us just how mortal we actually are. It is the people and situations that cross our paths that help shape us into the beings that we are today and will be tomorrow. Brad was one of those people who could easily influence you on the positive side. If you were blessed enough to sit and talk with him about (his) life you will soon see that he was starting his again and very happy. It has been said that God takes the good ones...we should not be sad but try to remember the blessings and joy that he brought to your life.

Rebecca and Family:

On behalf of the entire Radke family, I wish you comfort through our hearts and prayers. I was stationed with Brad for over four years as a Combat Training Instructor in Germany and also spent many 12 hour shifts with him on compound security details. Brad was a man who cared to listen, and received respect while talking. He proved through actions that he was one of the best in the world within the EOD profession. He will truly be missed by family and friends, and will always be remembered as a hero to an entire nation.

My condolences to everyone in BrAd's life; mother, wife, children, relatives, friends.

I notice some common threads throughout BrAd's guestbook: Everyone noticed BrAd's dedication, his love of family and his humor. Everyone has a great memory or story to share. What more can one ask of a person?

He was a great son, father, husband, friend and co-worker. We can only aspire to come close to what BrAd has accomplished in such a short time.

He's truly missed and has made a huge impact on this world.

God bless you, BrAd.

If only written words could truly express our sympathies and emotions. From all your EOD brothers and sisters, we thank you and your family for all that you have sacrificed. We are thankful for the time you did give us, the time you spent away from your loved ones in order to stand by us, and now hopefully the time you will spend to watch over us. Our hearts and prayers go with you and those that you cherished the most.

I worked with Brad in 92 - 93 at Kapaun AS, Germany. I remember him as a quick witted guy who was passionate about EOD. He was a person you could count on to do the job right the first time. Brad was a good friend and a great person. I will never forget him or his contributions to the EOD mission. He will be greatly missed!

My condolences to the family he has left. I as well have known Brad for a few years here at Ramstein as a co worker at CTS, and a friend. Brad taught me a lot and I am sure many others were affected by the outstanding knowledge he had. He will be missed by all that knew of him and all that knew him.

To the Clemmons Family,

I met Brad when I was first assigned here to CTS and had the opportunity to be his supervisor, friend, co-worker for the 6 months prior to his PCS to Alaska. The qualities I most remember about Brad were his huge passion for both his family and his job and his outstanding (sometimes warped)sense of humor, he could always make you laugh and was just a great person to be around. He was a vital member of the CTS cadre team and there is no telling how many people he had an effect on while he was conducting training/a cadre here at CTS, his legacy will live on. There are so many memories of day to day things that went on while he was here so to sum it all up, Brad you will be deeply missed by all. To Rebecca and family I'm not really sure what I could say to comfort you at a time like this but hopefully you can find some comfort in knowing what a huge impact Brad had in everything he was involved with and on everyone he came in contact with, you and your family are in our prayers..

I only met Brad once and that was in Washington DC a couple of months ago. He was with a group of airman that were spending the weekend along with my daughter LT Melody Jones. We shared dinner together and toured some of the same places. He was a delight to be with

I could tell right off the bat too that he was quite a piece of work and of all the guys who seemed to really have it all together, he was the one. In addition to that, it was obvious my daughter really respected him and they enjoyed there working relationship. In fact, it seemed like he had served as a good mentor for her during the three months they were training together and I am greatly appreciative of that.

Consequently, I was greatly shocked and saddened when Mel told me of his passing. My heart goes out to his family and please know that all of you are in my prayers. Our world has lost a good man, his children a good father and his wife ~ a fine husband. Brad, I am so sorry that you have left our world. May you rest in peace and your family be comforted by the loving arms by our God.

I am from the same town as MSgt Clemmons, but did not have the pleasure of knowing him. I see that there is no reference to his hometown newspaper's story about MSgt Clemmons, and folks might like to read it.

I pray for peace for the family.

I can't believe Brad's gone. I graduated EODS with Brad nearly 20 years ago and we've remained good friends ever since. He never failed to make me smile, laugh or just generally feel better about a bad situation. There is no doubt he was a fine EOD troop, but more importantly, he was a sincere, honest and reliable friend...and that cannot be replaced. God speed Brad.

God bless you and your younguns Rebecca. It is obvious that Brad is held in very high asteem by all who were fortunate enough to know him. We will all miss Brad. He was one of the most positive people I have ever known. I know the loss we all feel can't possibly compare to the loss you're suffering. I hope you and your younguns find peace and comfort in the Lord. God bless Brad. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.

I worked with MSgt Clemmons for a short time during OIF, CTS had loaned him to the USAFE Staff as the NCOIC of the Civil Engineer Crisis Action Team. He was incredibly dedicated, got things done, and was a pleasure to work beside. Godspeed, and my best wishes to his family. He will be sorely missed.

I first met Brad in 2004 when I was assigned to the CTS squadron at Ramstein AB Germany where he was an instructor for EOD. As a firefighter instructor myself, our two agencies always have something in common. Brad would always stop by our office and share a story he had to tell that particular day. And it would always go on and on and on. No matter what though, Brad was someone who always could make you smile and laugh. His constant practical jokes or the numerous funny stories he told about his life, or co-workers throughout the Air Force; you always knew you were in for a laugh. I was especially greatful of having spent most of the time knowing Brad on the golf course. There he sometimes brought his boys to watch and play golf with him. Just seeing the smile Brad had when he was around his children showed me that he was truely a loving father, husband, and someone you wanted to be friends with. I will deeply miss Brad because of not only having worked together, but the fact that he touched my life and made me a better person having known him for a while.

God Bless you Brad,

I spent 8 years in the Army as an infantry personal. I only knew Brad for two weeks. During those two weeks that I had known him, Master Sgt. Clemmons was second to none in his passion to serve this county, he had also opened his home to me and treated me as if I was his family. Master Sgt Clemmons lived and breathed the American way for freedom. I will miss him and I will always respect and honor him and his family

I pray God gives you comfort and peace that only He can give. I only knew Brad a few short months while training for our deployment. In that time I learned he was a dependable and highly respected SNCO who was willing to do what was right for the team. He blessed the world with his wisdom and courage and will be truly missed. He is now in God's loving arms and his memory will live on forever.

We met on a range clearance and in that short time a high level respect was developed for him. It was like just yesterday we were having the conversation about Brad getting ready for the WIT team. With that being said on behalf of myself, Kiel Anderson and the entire Shaw AFB EOD Flight our heartfelt sympathies are extended to Brad's family, co-workers, and anybody else who knew him.

Psalm 34:15 says that "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; and saves those who are crushed in spirit." We pray that you will find peace and comfort in these words. Please know that you and your family are in our prayers. Our sons knew the risks and dangers of their mission; they truly are and will always be heroes! May God surround you in His arms!

I am the commander of the Weapons Intelligence Flight to which Brad was assigned here in Iraq. The news of his death came as a tragic blow to everyone in our organization. Brad was universally admired and respected as an exceptional leader and compassionate friend. His teammates loved him, and will miss him deeply. We will keep Brad and his family in our thoughts and prayers as we endeavor to accomplish the mission with which we have been tasked. He would have expected no less of us.
