BRENDAN EDWARD LYNCH (Age 76)
Passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2015, after a long battle with cancer. Brendan passed peacefully, surrounded by his family at his home in Bridgeville, DE. Born in Medford, MA, to Edward and Catherine Lynch. He is survived by Robert, Kevin, Noreen, Patrick, and Kathleen. After serving in the US Marine Corps aboard the USS Forrestal and attending Catholic University of America he became founder and CEO of Lynch & Associates Ltd. Irrigation Consultants. He was in his 54th year of involvement in the construction industry, beginning with the sheet metal trade and transitioning to irrigation contractor, distributor, specifications manager and finally independent design consultant. Recently named a Fellow of the American Society of Irrigation Consultants, he was a dedicated professional and advocate for the efficient use of water, an inspirational mentor and teacher, and a caring, giving friend to many. He considered his family his greatest achievement.Brendan, beloved husband and father, is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marjorie Lynch; children, Kelly Davenport (Jeff), Kim Scull (Brian), Daniel Lynch (Sheri), Sean Lynch (Jennifer), and Erin Taylor (Brice); grandchildren, Nathan Treichel, Brendan & Colin Davenport, Daniel Scull and Jayne Scanlon (Jacob), and Kyle & Paige Taylor; and great-grandchild, Savannah Treichel.Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD (Valet Parking), Tuesday, December 15 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Church, 10103 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD, on Wednesday, December 16 at 11 a.m. Private Interment Quantico National Cemetery on Thursday, December 17 at 11 a.m.Memorial contributions may be made to the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center, PO Box 17029, Baltimore, MD 21297-1029 with a memo indicating that this gift is in memory of Brendan E. Sending our deepest sympathy on the passing of Brendan. Although we only knew him a short time, it was a great time. Brendan was so much fun! I loved our 1st meeting - Sandy dropping me off and me ringing your doorbell pretending to sell Amway! He handled it so well! Sending prayers to Marge and the family. Rest in peace Brendan.
