Marcia, Brian and David...I was so saddened to learn of my fellow SeaBee Ray's death. I apologize for missing his funeral...you see, I am extremely grateful that you emailed me about it, but the email you used is one I only check about once a week (my more active email is [email protected]) Consequently, when I read your note it was Thursday late evening, and I was stunned...Ray had already been gone a week...and Ken and I just spoke to him last week when he drove down to Occoquan to scout out the dock and decide the best setup for catching those mean crappy (attached is a photo of Ray getting ready to release a lucky but mean crappy(the lucky fish are those caught by Ray, because he always let them go to raise some more fish)...Ray, if you're up there looking down on me, don't expect me to take over in the fish department; and please forgive me for not being there for your final farewell...just believe me, we're going to miss you a lot back here along the banks of the Occoquan River, it won't be the same without you...I can't count the number of years you have been a river rat, and rest assured that you won't be forgotten.
