CARL ULSAKER Obituary
COL. CARL COMER ULSAKER, USA (Ret.)
A graduate of West Point and retired Senior Assistant Post Master General died June 22, 2012. Survived by wife Patricia; six children; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held July 7 at Pierce Funeral Home, Manassas, VA at 1 p.m.

My sincere sympathy to Pat and her family on Carl's passing. He was a mentor and a man I admired. I was a witness to his being fired for speaking his mind to the Postmaster General at a midnight meeting in Washington. Carl, of course, was right and was rehired the next morning and I always admired his willingness to speak up when the going got tough. I also remember sharing a plane ride with Carl when he recounted his "capture"of the Metz, France post office during WWII. He was a good man.
