Carlos Hernandez Obituary
On March 20, 2006, in Stafford, VA. Beloved father of Evelyn Hewitt (Bart); loving grandfather of Jim Hewitt and Laura Ackley; cherished great-grandfather of Christopher Hewitt. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nelle W. Hernandez and son, Carlos W. Hernandez. He was born in Puerto Rico and served in the US Army in World War II. He was an engineer with the Army Materiel Command and was a longtime member and Deacon of First Baptist Church of the City of Washington, DC. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 30 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at EVERLY-WHEATLEY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 W. Braddock Rd., Alexandria, VA, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Columbia Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Organ Fund at The First Baptist Church of the City of Washington, DC, 1328 16th St., NW, Washington, DC 20036.
