CARLTON VEAZEY Obituary
Rev. Dr. Carlton W. VEAZEY (Age 85)
The Reverend Dr. Carlton Wadsworth Veazey departed this life peacefully on August 10, 2021, at his home in Washington, DC. Pastor Emeritus of Fellowship Baptist Church, former pastor of 32 years of Zion Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughters, Caron Veazey Robinson and Katea Stitt; granddaughters, Saudia Jenkins, Sheriece Veazey-McNally and Johanna Stitt Abow; grandson, Isaiah Veazey; great grandson, Zion Veazey; son-in-law, Louis Robinson; godson, Ronald Bright; goddaughter, Gina Latture; sisters, Audrey Shockley and Geraldine Greene; brother, Weldon Veazey; devoted friend, Sonya Crudup; and a host of other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Veazey, daughter, Gayle Liggins and son, Michael Veazey. Wake will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Fellowship Baptist Church, 5605 Colorado Ave. NW, Washington, DC from 5:30 to 8 p.m. A visitation will be held at Zion Baptist Church, 4850 Blagden Ave. NW, Washington, DC on Friday, August 27 from 9 a.m. until time of funeral service 11 a.m. There will be a livestream of the funeral service at ziondc.org. www.johntrhines.com
