Caroline Romaine Hartzler

October 9, 1937 â€" September 25, 2023

Caroline Romaine Hartzler passed away peacefully on September 25, 2023 in San Antonio, TX.

Caroline was born in York, Pennsylvania on October 9, 1937 to Louis Scicchitano and Alverta Scicchitano (Cacciola). She is survived by her sister Elizabeth Gibson and husband George and their son James; daughter Lisa Kadous and husband John of San Antonio, TX; son Timothy Hartzler and wife Tammy of Nokesville, VA; and her granddaughters Caryn Kadous and Victoria Kadous.

Caroline graduated from Immaculata College in 1959 and began her career at the OSS. She married Lawrence Hartzler and they had two children. After a break to raise her children, Caroline resumed her career, retiring from the CIA in 1997.

In retirement, Caroline traveled with Elizabeth, participated in the Winston Churchill Society and played Mahjong competitively. Caroline loved learning French.

Caroline adored spending time with Caryn and Victoria, encouraging them in their education, traveling and reading.

We know Caroline is at peace in the Glory of God.
