Carter Marantette Obituary
MARANTETTE CARTER HEHMAN MARANTETTE, JR. "CJ" (Age 29) On June 1, 2010 at his home in Reston, VA. Beloved son of Carter and Katharine Marantette of Reston; brother of Christopher and Alexa Marantette, both of Arlington, VA. Carter was a 1999 graduate of Herndon High School and earned his Bachelor''s degree of Science at George Mason University. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday June 7, 2010 at St. Thomas a'' Beckett Catholic Church 1421 Wiehle Ave., Reston, VA 20190; where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2010. Interment to follow at Chestnut Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in CJ''s name to Special Olympics of Virginia, 3212 Skipwith Rd. Suite 100, Richmond, VA 23294 to honor his Aunt Ann and Uncle B. Arrangements by Adams-Green Funeral Home, Herndon, VA.

I only met Carter back in Nov when he came to work at Verizon. He was a great person with a smile for everyone. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time. My condolences on your loss.

Carter was a student of mine in his New Hire Training at Verizon. He always had a warm smile to greet everyone every day. He was a special person and will remain in our hearts. My condolences go out to his family and friends. I'm blessed to have known Carter.

Although I had not seen C.J. since middle school, it is evident that his kindness and charm had remained intact.
I had just moved to the area and knew no one at Herndon Middle School. C.J. and I had a class together, where the teacher made me introduce myself to the class - a thoroughly embarrassing experience & a great way to not make friends….or so I thought. Later that day, for no reason other than to be kind to a stranger, he introduced me to a few of his friends. Such a simple act meant the world to me. That thoughtfulness and understanding of my feelings will forever be with me. It was a true testament to his character. He was kind to all, his smile welcoming and his laugh infectious.
My thoughts, prayers and deepest condolences are with your family.

The church was packed today, in a display of grief, respect and solidarity that was truly phenomenal. I have never seen anything like it, and it speaks to the fine, loved person you nurtured into manhood. He touched so many lives. I am so deeply sorry for your loss.

Just say his name "CJ" and friends knew who you were talking about. Our family has such fun memories of him with Kris and all the buddies from Herndon. CJ was so easy going, kind, and a pleasure to be around. I trust that he was not meant to have such a short life here, as his joyful spirit will be terribly missed by all who knew him.
Our hearts go out to his parents for the loss of such a precious child.
